Worship Opportunities

8:30 Blended Worship usually meets in our Social Hall, preceded by light refreshments.  It has a casual atmosphere, a mix of contemporary and traditional songs and hymns.

First Sunday Worship is held in the Sanctuary with traditional hymns and celebration of Communion

From Memorial Day until Daylight Savings Time in the Fall, we offer "Sundays at Sunset" on Cape Charles Beach at 7pm across from Monroe Ave.

Snapshot of Ministries

Seasonal Bible Studies:  Join us in our Social Hall on Monday evenings throughout the year for a time of fellowship and study with members from our whole Charge!

Food Pantry:  Distribution on every Second Wednesday from 1-3pm.  Door for the pantry is on Plum Street.

Festive Fridays:  Sharing free homemade hot chocolate with the community during the winter celebrations of Festive Fridays

Partnership with Cape Charles Christian School:  We host events with CCCS, such as a Christmas program and yogurt bar to connect with our community students.

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes: We serve as the local hub for Operation Christmas Child shoebox collections each year and provide on-site opportunity to pack your own box!

History (in brief)

Trinity can trace its roots all the way back to 1885.  Back then, there was tension between the Methodist Episcopal South and North.  The Northern Methodists founded Bethany MEC and the Southern Methodists founded Centenary MEC.  These two congregations merged in 1939, forming Trinity as it is known today - taking "residence" in the old Centenary building.

Some years back, half of the historic building found on Tazewell Street caught fire and with the assistance of the church members and surrounding community, were able to build back - lending the church to having a mix between traditional and modern architecture.

Trinity and Capeville UMCs have shared a Charge for years.  Just recently, they welcomed Cheriton into the Charge in 2021.
